From the beginning, the vision for Liven Beach Road’s clubhouse was to create a space that seamlessly blends into Hervey Bay’s coastal setting while celebrating the active, social lifestyle of over-50s living. A place for everyone to enliven their life in resort style luxury.

To bring this vision to life, we partnered with the teams at V Architecture (exterior design) and ThomsonAdsett (interior design) to deliver a one-of-a-kind clubhouse that celebrates connection, lifestyle, and the coastal charm of life in Hervey Bay.

With construction underway on what will soon become the heartbeat of our community, we sat down with the visionaries behind Liven Beach Road’s clubhouse.

An immediate sense of arrival, and a warm welcome to residents and guests

With its relaxed coastal lifestyle, beautiful natural surrounds and vibrant community, Hervey Bay has long been a favourite for over 50s seeking more from life. The exterior and interior architectural design teams took that inspiration and ran with it – drawing on Palm Springs influences and timeless coastal cues to craft and define the Liven Beach Road clubhouse.

“While serenity, comfort and relaxation are at the heart of the clubhouse design, it also caters to active over 50s residents, offering a range of wellness, fitness and social activities,” said Costa Vorkas, Director of V Architecture.

The exterior showcases a rich material palette of natural sandstone, textured surfaces, warm timbers, breeze blocks and soft pastel tones to evoke a sense of tranquil elegance. “It’s the social heart of the community,” Costa explained. “It offers an immediate sense of arrival and a warm welcome to residents and guests.”

Designed as both a sanctuary and a hub for activity, the clubhouse supports a full calendar of wellness, fitness and social experiences tailored to the vibrant future residents of Liven Beach Road.

Upon completion, residents can look forward to a clubhouse that boasts a swimming pool, sun lounges, tennis and pickleball courts, cinema, games room, workshop, gym, dance floor, arts and craft studio, library, bar and lounge, community kitchen, BBQ areas, and options for both outdoor and private dining. Plus, there’ll be dedicated spaces for exercise, lawn bowls and a host of social gatherings.

A place that is luxurious and modern, while also feeling nostalgic and familiar

Katrina Miranda, Studio Leader – Brisbane and Principal Interior Design at ThomsonAdsett, and her team were tasked with establishing the vision for the overall design picks, before specifically honing the design and detail of the interiors. Light, neutral finishes were paired with fresh, natural materials like linen, timber and brass to create a warm, grounded feel. But the true star of the design, according to Katrina, is the seamless indoor-outdoor connection. “It was more about a design that celebrated the outside spaces especially as in a coastal environment, it is all about outdoor living,” Katrina said.

Excitement is building as construction of the clubhouse has commenced

Liven Communities Head of Developments, Steven Wright, said once complete, the clubhouse will represent community connection. “It stands as the centre of the community, where people come together to enjoy life,” he said. “From the lane swimmers to the lilo lovers, it’s about creating a space for everyone.”

Future residents are already responding with excitement. “The renders have been really well received,” he added. “People can see the time and care that’s gone into not just creating a beautiful building but designing resident-centric spaces that truly support a vibrant lifestyle.”

With construction progressing at Liven Beach Road and anticipation building, the clubhouse will become the heartbeat of the community, designed for solo groovers and duo movers to fill their lives with connections that matter.
