Liven Like a Local: Cheryl’s foodie guide to Hervey Bay
Introducing Liven Like a Local – our new series where our sales team share their favourite spots, tips and hidden gems in their communities. Get ready to meet the faces behind Liven and discover the places they love along the way.
Kicking the series off is our wonderful Liven Beach Road Sales Executive Cheryl. If there’s one thing she knows very, very well (other than finding you a fabulous home in Hervey Bay of course!), it’s good food. So, if you’re looking for some of the best places to eat in Hervey Bay, read on!
Originally hailing from Melbourne, Australia’s unofficial coffee & café capital, Cheryl moved to Hervey Bay knowing a good spot to grab a bite to eat when she sees one! Lucky for her (and for us!), Hervey Bay’s foodie scene absolutely delivers (a definite perk for our current and future Liven Beach Road residents!).
“There’s such a fantastic choice of cafés, restaurants and grab-and-go spots here. Whether I’m in the mood for a relaxed dinner or a quick beachside bite, there’s always something delicious close by,” she says.
After a few years of exploring everything Hervey Bay has to offer, Cheryl has become our local expert on many things especially where to eat, sip and savour. So, let’s tuck in… Here are her top foodie picks around this beautiful coastal town.

Enzo’s on the Beach
If you’re looking for a postcard perfect view, Enzo’s is a must visit! Located along the Esplanade, this iconic beachfront restaurant and bar offers some of the best dining views around.
Whether it’s a morning brekkie, a chilled lunch, a seaside dinner or a sunset cocktail, everything tastes better when you’re overlooking the sparkling bay.
With fresh seafood, contemporary dishes, speciality drinks and an easy-going coastal atmosphere, Enzo’s is pet-friendly, accessible and the perfect spot for casual catchups with friends and family,
Cheryl’s recommendation: “The dining experience is amazing, but my favourite thing? Grabbing a cocktail and soaking up those beautiful views with loved ones.”
Salt Café Urangan
Great food, great coffee and great views – that’s what you can expect when you sit down for a meal at Salt Café Urangan!
Located on the beachfront side of Oceans Resort & Spa, Salt Café is open seven days a week and serves up a diverse selection of dishes from fresh seafood to gourmet burgers, vibrant salads and tasty breakfast options.
Cheryl’s recommendation: “On a hot summer’s day, nothing beats an acai bowl from Salt Café before going for a stroll along the Urangan Pier!”
EAT in the Bay
Torquay in Hervey Bay is known for four things – boardwalks, playgrounds, jetties and EAT in the Bay!
The family-owned café is run by chef Andrew, who creates dishes to delight every taste bud. Whether you’re vegan, coeliac, or just a foodie at heart, there’s something special here for everyone.
Open daily from 7:00am-2:30pm, be sure to drop in for a tasty treat (or two – we don’t judge!).
Cheryl’s recommendation: “The pancake menu is dangerously good. Whether you go classic or all-in with the banana split, your taste buds will thank you.”

Bayorama Café
If you like cafés with heart, Bayorama is your new go-to. Loved by locals and visitors alike, this family- run gem serves up all-day breakfast and lunch with plenty of fresh, gourmet goodness.
Their menu includes daily chef specials, healthy snacks, sandwiches, salads, homemade frittatas, speciality coffee, shakes, smoothies, and more!
Cheryl’s recommendation: “My favourite thing to do when visiting Bayorama Café is to get my food to go and enjoy it across the Esplanade in the park or on the beach!”
Barrel N Vine
No need to travel overseas for authentic Italian cuisine – instead, enjoy a delicious dinner right here at Hervey Bay’s Barrel N Vine!
With mouthwatering mains like porchetta and cioppino, a hearty pasta selection, and stone baked pizzas that’ll transport your tastebuds straight to Italy, Barrel N Vine promises a fantastic night out.
Cheryl’s recommendation: “Celebrating something special? Ask about their ‘Zucotto cake’ which includes layers of sponge, cream, chocolate-coated almonds and a hint of Italian orange liqueur. It’s heavenly.”
Cook up a storm at Liven Beach Road!
Of course, when you live at Liven beach Road, staying in can be just as delicious as heading out.
Your future clubhouse will feature premium cooking and dining spaces including BBQ areas, private dining, a community kitchen and a bar & lounge – aka the ultimate set up for dinner parties, social get-togethers and more.
